Kavadarci - Memorial ossuary (Спомен костурница)

The Memorial Ossuary honoring the fallen fighters from Kavadarci and the surrounding during the Second World War is erected on a panoramic location in the city park in Kavadarci. This monumental object was solemnly opened on September 7th, 1976, and is made by the project of Petar Mulichkovski (Петар Муличковски).

The monument symbolizes an old Macedonian house, fenced with concrete walls. The lower fenced part represents the inner courtyard of the house that continues into an external courtyard in the form of an amphitheater.

Previously, the relics of the dead were housed in the walls of the building, which later were transferred to the museum in Kavadarci.

While entering the building, marble slabs are visible on which are the names of 328 fighters killed in Kavadarci and the region during the Second World War.

The spiral staircase in the center of the building leads first to the closed part at a height of 12 meters, i.e. styled Macedonian house, followed by an upper open floor, from where visitors have the opportunity to enjoy a panoramic view of Kavadarci and its surrounding.
